Zola Friedman

Zola Friedman, age 84, of Plymouth, Minnesota, died January 15 with loving family at his side. He was a family man ahead of his time, and he expressed his love through time spent with family and endless effort on their behalf. He spent nearly 40 years as an accountant at Johnson Printing & Packaging, affectionately called a human calculator. Zola was a Minnesota sports fan but most of all a fan of his family. He was a loving husband, father and zadie, married to his wife for 62 strong years. His kindness and genuine interest in the wellbeing of others will be missed by many family and friends. Zola was preceded in death by parents Sarah Fishbein Friedman, Louis Friedman and Elizabeth Greenman Friedman Shrell; sister, Ethel Friedman Elzas; brother, Benjamin Friedman; and grandson, Jordan Daniel Friedman. He is survived by wife, Barbara Atkin Friedman; daughter, Sheryl Sue Friedman (Steven) Warren; son, Lee (Amy) Friedman; and grandchildren Ethan and Adam Friedman and Elana and Haley Warren. Funeral services 2 p.m. MONDAY, Jan. 17, at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5225 Barry St. W., St. Louis Park. Memorials preferred to JFCS Minneapolis, Beth El Synagogue Youth Dept., or donor’s choice. SHIVA 7:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Beth El. Masks and proof of vaccine or negative COVID-19 test are required to attend the funeral or shiva in person.
