Shirley Groll Jacobson

September 8, 1930 - January 27, 2022

Shirley Groll Jacobson, age 91, passed away on January 27, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the last of the original “Grollie” family and Mama to many. Preceded in death by her loving husband Stanley, infant daughter Cheryl Ann, parents Sarah & Joseph Groll, sisters and brothers-in-law Sylvia & Irv Field, Rose & Jerry Averbach, Lillian & Sam Benenson, Mickey & Joe Kaplan, brothers Nate, Donny and Larry Groll. Survived by daughters, Paula (Bruce) Freidson and Judi Jacobson; grandchildren, Chera (Travis) Engstrom, David Freidson (Jacqueline Michaud), Mollie (Todd) Ostrow, and Sarah Freidson (Caleb Schepart); great grandchildren Ava, Ayla, Michael, Ari, Rena, Violet, and many loving nieces, nephews, dear cousins and friends. Special thank you to the devoted caregivers, clergy, staff and friends at Roitenberg Family Assisted Living who brightened her days and enriched her life for the last five years. With gratitude to the Methodist Hospital Hospice Team who cared for Shirley and her family during her last few months. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. SUNDAY, January 30th at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5225 Barry St. W., St. Louis Park. SHIVA 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Beth El Syn. Masks and proof of vaccine or negative COVID-19 test are required to attend the funeral or shiva in person. Funeral and two nights of shiva are also available on zoom.
