Salomon Kampel Obituary (1914 - 2011)

Salomon Kampel, age 96, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on March 31st surrounded by family. He was born on September 16, 1914 to Jacob and Cyril Kampel and was one of five children. Salomon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers, Schmiel and Moshe; and sisters, Angia and Nacha. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Margarete; son, Frank (Leslie); daughter, Susan (Bob) Dybevik; grandchildren, Bruce and David Allen; great-grandchildren, Chase, Kylie, and Makayla Sue. Salomon always put others first, making sure his wife and children were always provided for. He volunteered many years at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis. Salomon was a Holocaust survivor; he came to this country in 1952 after the war not knowing English and with just three dollars in his pocket. He worked hard with one company his entire career and made a good life for his wife and children. He will be deeply missed.
