Kaplan, Rita, age 77, of Mpls. Survived by husband, Manuel; children, Anne Kaplan (Baki Roth), Eve Kaplan (Larry McDonogh), Joshua Kaplan (Jenni Haas); grandchildren, Jamila Roth, Megan and Ana McDonogh, Nina and Nathan Kaplan; sister, Barbara (Leon) Goldstein; also nieces & nephews. Although trained in social work, Rita had a multi-dimensional career creating many of the positions she filled. Her activities included President of the St. Louis, MO League of Women Voters, Executive Director of the National Association of Social Workers of MN, The Bush Fellowship, Honeywell Foundation, Assistant to the President of Augsburg College, Public Affairs at Tunheim, Board Member and Acting Director of the Sister Kenny Foundation. Funeral service SUNDAY 4 PM, ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 W. Hillside Lane, Minnetonka. Memorials preferred to University of Minnesota Hospitals or Minnesota League of Women Voters.
