Patricia Anne Lieber

–

Bonita Springs, Florida

Lieber, Patricia Anne
age 74, of Bonita Springs, FL, (formerly of Hopkins), died suddenly on June
28, 2013. Proceeded in death by her father, Charles F. Evans. Survived by
her mother, Florence Evans; her loving husband of 29 years, Dr. Ralph H.
Lieber (formerly of Edina); sons, Bill & Amy Marker (Shakopee), Bob Marker
(Eden Prairie), Rick & Michele Marker (Oakland, NJ); stepsons, Dan & Lauren
Lieber (Edina), Josh & Danielle Lieber (Beverly Hills, CA); and 9
grandchildren. Raised in Lenoir City, TN, Patti was beautiful inside and out and
brought sunshine and joy to all who have had the good fortune of knowing her
or being in her company. She may have had a weak heart but, in truth, it
was a large heart for all. Never a day passed when she wasn't cheering
someone up or must leading by example. She was always positive, full of
life and happy to be with family, friends or even new acquaintances.

An accomplished singer, Patti went on to study at Juilliard, where she sang
lead roles off Broadway. She transferred to the University of Tennessee,
where she was proud to be a drum majorette for her beloved Volunteers and a
member of Tri Delta Sorority. She served as a Guidette with NBC in New
York, then as a travel agent in Honolulu, then joined Northwest Airlines as
a flight attendant, moving to a management position that she retained until
she retired.

Patti shared her own battle with breast cancer by putting on a show at the
Guthrie Theater to educate women and raise money for cancer research. While
living in Columbus, IN, Patti worked for The Center for International
Leadership and served as a Docent for the Indianapolis Art Institute. In
'88, Patti was made an Honorary Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.

Patti and Ralph performed as a musical team. She went on to sing with the
St. Paul Opera Company, and with her husband sang in the Naples Opera
Company and in the Adath Jeshurun Choir. A devoted sports fan, she took great pride in her many performances singing the National Anthem for the Vikings, North Stars and Kicks. They lived a dynamic life together, traveling the world
and making friends everywhere they went. They volunteered for "Teach For
Friendship Foundation" in Wuhan, China, teaching college students
conversational English. It was fitting that she named their Wisconsin cabin
"Storybook," as that is how she felt about their life. In recent years,
Patti loved making scrapbooks and planning special family occasions, but her
favorite thing to do was anything with her devoted Ralphy.

Private Burial at Temple Israel Memorial Park. Gathering for family and
friends at 8873 Basswood Road, Eden Prairie, Sunday, June 30, from 7-9pm. Memorials preferred to Children’s Hospitals and Clinic’s of Minnesota, Designation: Cancer Kids Fund, 2525 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404.
