Joyce Tobey Knoppow Warshawsky M.D. Obituary (1942 - 2011)

Joyce Tobey Knoppow Warshawsky M.D., age 68 of St. Louis Park, passed away January 28, 2011 at home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Bob (44 years), mother of Brian and Naomi (Sam Harwin), and sister to Ken Knoppow. Joyce was a dedicated pediatric rheumatologist at Children's Hospitals of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and Shriner's Hospital. She attended the University of Michigan for both undergraduate and medical school and completed her pediatric residency and fellowship at Michigan and the University of Minnesota. She was active in many organizations including Hadassah, Talmud Torah, Jewish Federation and the Amer. Lung Association. Joyce enjoyed hiking, skiing, travel, reading mysteries and being with family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Special thanks to Drs. Funeral service SUNDAY 11 AM, ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 Hillside Lane W., Minnetonka. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Talmud Torah of Mpls., Hadassah, Jewish Federation of Mpls., and Darchei Noam Congregation.
