Jo Ellen Krinsky Robins, of Mendota Heights, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021. She spent the past few months at home in the care of family, friends, Grace Hospice, home health care aids and the faithful family cats. Jo Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Dave Krinsky, and her in-laws, Fanniebelle Robins and Solly Robins. She is survived by the love of her life, Stan Robins, whom she began dating at age 14 and remained married to for over 60 years. She is also survived by her children, Jenifer (Steve Hunegs) and David (Shirly Gilat Robins), as well as her grandchildren, Brita, Danny and Dinah Hunegs, and Noabelle and Soli Robins. Jo Ellen is also survived by her brother Mark Krinsky, and many loving siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Jo Ellen grew up in Saint Paul where she attended University High School before moving to Upstate New York to attend Skidmore College where she studied art history and graduated in 1962. She and Stan made their early home in New York and Washington D.C., but eventually moved to Saint Paul and Mendota Heights where they raised their children. Jo Ellen enjoyed a varied professional life as the co-owner of The Strawberry Patch needlepoint shop, as a paralegal and as the owner of Design, Etc., an interior design and graphic design studio. She also dedicated her boundless creativity, energy, and aesthetic sense to volunteering in several capacities for many organizations, including The National Council of Jewish Women and St. Paul Academy and Summit School. Jo Ellen enjoyed playing tennis, bridge, and computer games as well as biking and traveling with Stan, her family, and her treasured friends. Jo Ellen is remembered for her infectious smile, sharp wit and the charisma that made her adored by many who had the good fortune to know her. Funeral service Sunday, September 26th at 2:30 pm at Mount Zion Temple, 1300 Summit Ave., Saint Paul. Funeral service will also be live-streamed at www.mzion.org (click on livestreaming).
