Jeffrey Halpern Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jeffrey Halpern, 79 of Rancho Mirage, CA, passed away October 22, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving daughter and beloved caretakers due to complications from Lewy Body dementia, Jeff was born in Minneapolis, MN to his parents Eleanor and Charles Halpern. He graduated from Breck School, the University of Minnesota undergraduate and law school. He married his childhood sweetheart Myra Mandel Halpern and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years of marriage up until Myra's untimely passing in 2016. Jeff was a lawyer in Minneapolis prior to switching gears and embarking in the business of Native American Gaming. Jeff and Myra raised their only child, Liza, in Edina, MN. Jeff was the world's best father, and a fun, goofy and loving Papa to his beloved grandchildren, Max and Jesse Meyerhardt. Jeff loved telling jokes, finagling his way into every event that was available to him, and playing Poker and Blackjack, later replaced by Canasta and Gin. He was a smart, witty, lively man who commanded any room he entered. He will be solely missed by everyone who had the fortune of calling him their friend. Jeff leaves behind his cherished daughter and son-in-law Liza and Jeffrey Meyerhardt and his grandchildren Max and Jesse Meyerhardt of Needham, MA; his second love Judy Walman of Chanhassen; his sister Bonnie Sell; brothers Jeffrey and Neil Sell and their wives Mary and Kathy; Susan and Richard Proman; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and devoted caretakers.
