Hilda Rose Hellman Obituary (1915 - 2022)

Hilda Rose Hellman (“HRH”), age 106, passed away on July 17, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hyman and Ida Rose; and Eleven Siblings. Hilda is survived by Five Generations, including Daughters, Georgean (Georg) E. Swartz, Geraldean (Geri) E. Goldberger, and Marilyn J. Hellman; Grandchildren, Joe and Jane Goldberger, Gary and Alise Goldberger, Jay Goldberger and Esther Kravitz, Rachael and Joel Paper, Andrew Swartz, and Julie Swartz; Great-Grandchildren, Sarah and Dustin Nides, Ben Goldberger, Emily Goldberger, Mathew Goldberger, Marisa Goldberger, Lauren Goldberger and Jake Malo, Michael Goldberger, Alle Goldberger, William Paper, Levi Paper and Mordy Hellman Swartz; Great-Great Grandchildren, Silas Robert Derevitsky and Sophia Helen Nides, Paul and Rita Goldstein; and many Nieces and Nephews. In her mid-forties, after a career with several Minneapolis Retailers, Hilda became a Stellar Entrepreneur, Founding and Operating The Pink Closet in 1959. The Pink Closet was Minnesota’s first Upscale Resale store for Women and Men’s Clothing. Hilda worked hard and creatively for many years at a time when few women were establishing businesses. She was highly respected in the Twin Cities Business Community, but She always put her family first. She is loved and will be missed by her three daughters, their families and friends. Funeral service 1:00 PM on TUESDAY, July 19th at TEMPLE OF AARON SYNAGOGUE, 616 Mississippi River Blvd. S., St. Paul. Memorials preferred to donor’s favorite charity. SHIVA 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Temple of Aaron Synagogue. Funeral will be livestreamed through Temple of Aarons website.
