Dr. Manly Rubin Obituary (1928 - 2010) - Golden Valley, Minnesota

Dr. Manly Rubin Age 81 of Golden Valley passed away January 16, 2010. An extraordinary man, devoted to his family,patients and community. Survived by wife, Sybil; son, Harry I. (Rhonda) Rubin; daughters, Caron (Marc Meirovitz) Rubin and Rochelle (Scott Rutzick) Rubin; grandchildren, Colin and Ethan Rubin Meirovitz, Boaz, Amalya and Gilad Rubin and Shelby Rutzick; brothers, Dr. Leon (Lainy) Rubin and Dr. Jack (Clarice) Rubin; sister-in-law Rochelle Pincovich. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, he received degrees in medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland, and pharmacy from Apothecary Hall, Dublin, Ireland. After six years in general practice in rural Saskatchewan, Canada, he moved his family to Minneapolis where he completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Minnesota, and built a thriving practice for over 20 years. His family was the center of his universe and he treasured them. With a sparkle in his eye, a delightful sense of humor, a gift for storytelling, and a sense of adventure, he lived a rich and full life with grace. He never hesitated to share his compassion and advice, and his incredible strength. He is loved and missed immeasurably. Funeral service MONDAY (TODAY), 12 NOON, BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 West 26th Street, St. Louis Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Jewish Family & Children's Service the Dr. Manly & Sybil Rubin Family Endowment Fund to support the care of abused children, or Beth El Syn. to Rabbi Alexander Davis's Discretionary Fund or the donor's choice..
