Bernice Dorfman

–

St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Bernice Dorfman, age 87 of St. Louis Park, passed away March 28, 2012. Preceded in death by husband Leo. Bernice was the epitome of the world’s best mom. Her three men- Leo, and her two boys Alan and Jay were her life and later, after her son Jay married her daughter-in-law, Elisa, her grandson Michael and granddaughter Alexis became the sunshine of her life. From the start Bernice as model and sales representative for Rothschild’s Clothing Store downtown , helped support her husband Leo’s quest to complete law school. For Bernice and Leo, it was love at first sight and when Leo returned from World War II they began their life together. Starting in North Mpls. with the help of a dear friend Jack Rubenstein, Bernice and Leo moved into their new home. A few years later the two moved to 2811 Aquila Ave, St. Louis Park where their legacy began and continued for 45 years. Bernice was the consummate mother making sure her men received the best love and care. Alan and Jay were known for having the best made lunches in school. Bernice’s culinary skills were legendary, preparing Friday night meals and holiday celebrations. Bernice’s joy in making her family happy was most important to her. Bernice’s energy and attention to detail showed her vibrancy in her life. Her attitude and love transcended to all and now we have her spirit to guide us though the path of life. We will greatly miss the jewel of the Cell and Dorfman family. Funeral service 11:00 am FRIDAY at the ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 Hillside Lane W., Mtka.
