Fiterman, Benjamin “Papa Ben”
“going on 88” of Edina. He fought a courageous battle on the fields of Italy and later in life with health issues. Preceded in death by parents, Jack & Bessie Fiterman; brothers, Gerald and Hyman Fiterman; sister, Esther Rappaport. Survived by the love of his life for 67 years, Bernice; children, Carolyn Fiterman & Roger Cone, Serene & Peter Simon and Mike & Linda Fiterman; grandchildren, Jill Simon, John & Lisa Simon, Betsy & Jay Hiniker, Kathy & Tyler Rendleman, Jack & Amy Fiterman, Ann & Todd Miller and Debra Fiterman; great-grandchildren, Jack, Nick and Molly Hiniker, Jenna Rose and Mari Simon, Charlie, Joey, Lucy and Sally Rendleman, Adam, Sam and Josi Fiterman and Josh and Eve Miller; brother, Maurice & Grace Fiterman; sister, Sylvia Sorkin; many friends and extended family. Ben’s dedication to philanthropy left a living legacy for his family and community. His optimistic smile and positive attitude were loved by everyone. Special thank you to the numerous doctors and caregivers over the last couple of years. Funeral service WEDNESDAY 1PM at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 W 26th St., St. Louis Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s favorite charity. SHIVA, Beth El Synagogue (Wed 7PM) and at Adath Jeshurun Congregation, 10500 W. Hillside Ln., Mtka (Thur 7PM).
