Anne Belle Dachis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Age 97, of Golden Valley, MN died in her home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, surrounded by her entire family. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; parents, Harry and Ruby Aberson; in-laws, Harry and Charlotte Dachis; sister, Shirley Isaacs; and great-grandson, Quentin Dachis. Survived by her six sons, Gary (Elaine), Daniel (Elaine), Ronald (Toni), Robert (Ivory Penn), Bruce (Rebecca Sommers), Jeffrey (Jill); only daughter, Deborah Dachis Gold (Michael); 12 grandchildren, Louis Dachis (Sara Steinberger), Marnie Dachis Marmet (Jordan), Noah Dachis (Noelle), Adam Dachis (Richard Cardenas), Carly Dachis Hodes (Matt), Ali Rose Dachis (Aaron Rossini), Alex Dachis (Jessica Hazelton), Max Gold, Kevin Dachis, Zoey Dachis Gold, Ruby Dachis, and Julian David Dachis; eight great-grandchildren, Morgan Dachis, Zachary, Sage, and Gabriella Marmet, Naomi and Jayden Dachis, Reese and Lucy Hodes; nieces and nephews, Rick (Judy) and Nancy Berland, Chuck and Neil Dachis, and Tom (Ida), John, and Mindy Isaacs. Anne was born in Chicago, grew up in Minneapolis, and graduated from North High School where she met the love of her life, David “Taffy” Dachis. Together from the age of 15, they were married 68 happy years. They created a legacy of seven children, whose ages span 22 years, resulting in four generations together at the dinner table until her last day. Anne was one of a kind. She was a baker extraordinaire, an aspiring horticulturist, and a “hostess with the mostess” who believed that there was always a reason to have a party. But above all came her family; she envisioned what a family should be and she made it so. She was known for her contagious optimism, her strength and resilience, her can-do attitude, her wonderful sense of humor, her homemade chocolate malts, and her banana bread. She would describe herself as the luckiest person in the world, but her family would describe her as the Queen of Absolutely Everything. Funeral service 11:00 am on FRIDAY, May 13th at ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500 Hillside Ln. W., Minnetonka. Memorials may be directed to the Dachis Family Fund at JFCS, or charity of choice. Shiva 5:00 pm on Friday in the party room at The Laurel, 250 Turners Xrd. S., Golden Valley, and 7:00 pm on Sunday at the home of Gary and Elaine Dachis, 19600 Cedarhurst St., Wayzata. Masks required for anyone not fully vaccinated.
