Anna Granat Obituary (1924 - 2014) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Anna Granat, Mother of Toby Berman (Frank), age 90 of St. Louis Park, passed away May 29th. She is preceded in death by husband Sol, son, Jack and brother, David Karp. Anna is also survived by her grandchildren, Kari Berman Gross (Stephen) and Evan Berman; great-grandchildren Matanya and Eden Berman, Shane and Mia Litman; sister, Miriam Zilber and brother, Shimon Karp. Anna was a teenager in Poland when Germany invaded that country in 1939. She met Sol, her husband and lifelong companion during the war, escaped to Russia, and both survived the Holocaust, then resided in a displaced persons facility until emigrating to the United States with their two children in 1951. With much strength and resolve they built a wonderful life for themselves and their family, and were loving parents, grandparents, and great grandparents-a truly rich life arose from the horror of their earlier days. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Kim Walker. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. SUNDAY at the UNITED HEBREW BROTHERHOOD CEMETERY CHAPEL, 70 ½ at Thomas Ave. So., Richfield.
