Alys Pritzker Yarmo Obituary (1919 - 2010)

Alys Pritzker Yarmo, age 91 of St. Paul, passed away Nov. 30, 2010. Preceded in death by daughter, Michelle, sister, Maxine “Mitzie” Kaplan, brothers-in-law, Bernard Kaplan and Lawrence Silverman. Survived by daughters, Karen, Paula (Arnold); son Neil (Joni); twin brother, Edward Pritzker ; sister Jeanne Silverman; many nieces, nephews and many dear friends who were also family. On Oct. 28, 1932, Alys was the first woman to be a Bat Mitzvah in the State of Minnesota, the service was held at the Temple of Aaron Syn. A special thanks to Dr. Averial E. Nelson Jr., assistant Kathy, care givers; Comfort, Adeline, Mary and the wonderful staff at Sholom Home East-Groveland. Memorial service THURSDAY 2 PM MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul.
