Abraham "Abby" Seitel
April 7, 1929 - April 3, 2018
Abraham Raymond Seitel (“Abby” to all who knew and loved him) died Tuesday, April 3rd, missing his 89th birthday by just four days. Abby graduated from Roscoe, New York High School, where he excelled in baseball and was drafted into the minor leagues. His education continued at Syracuse University, and he joined the army after graduation to serve during the Korean War. Later, as a successful business executive, he was a member of the Young President’s Organization. Abby came to Minnesota from Phoenix in 1981. Abby married his wife, Susan in 1991, embarking on a romantic journey neither could ever have imagined. He surprised her with his unique collection of books, a library of nearly 1,000. While his collection represented the best of both fiction and history, Abby was first and foremost a history scholar, fascinated by the impact of historical occurrences on present day events. Abby was preceded in death by parents, Max and Esther Seitel; sister, Sylvia Bogner; brother, Gerald Seitel; daughter, Jamie Olsen; and son, Andrew Seitel. In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by son, Craig and grandson, Max; daughter-in-law, Tammy; granddaughter, Alexandra and grandsons, Jeremy White and Talon Amsbaugh. Abby was much loved by his step-family, Michael Bonoff (Karen), Terri Bonoff (Matthew Knopf), Steven Bonoff (Elder Carson) and Nancy Bilyk (Tom), and grandchildren, Carolyn, John and Peter Bonoff, Joe and Adam Paulsen, Leigh and Jacob Knopf, and Belle, Natalie and Sam Bilyk. In addition, Uncle Abby will be remembered by many adoring nieces and nephews. Funeral service SUNDAY, 11:00am, TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2323 Fremont Ave. S., Mpls.
